J'ai brièvement étudié ce sujet l'année dernière donc je t'explique un peu le sujet des années 20 en français (peut-être uj peu en anglais aussi) et tu pourras t'appuyer dessus pour rechercher un peu plus loin en t'aidant d'Internet etc...

The period of the roaring twenties is also called the Jazz Age (la période des années 20 est aussi appelée le Jazz age)

Louis Armstrong is a famous american jazz man of this period because he played jazz and he was black.

During this years, there was the Segration.

The segregation is when black people and white people are separated because of their skin's color. (La ségrégation est quand les personnes blanches et noires sont séparées à cause de leur couleur de peau).

During this years, there was the Prohibition too.

The prohibition is that the alcohol, cigarettes etc... were prohibited in the USA. (la prohibition est le fait que l'alcool les cigarettes etc... sont interdits aux USA).

So because of this two things, the consequence is that black women and men had a nightlife (vie nocturne). During the night they go together have fun, in cabarets, playing jazz music (piano, saxophone, guitar... ) , smoking (fumer), drinking alcohol, chatting (parler), dancing...

There were a lot of jazz and blues musics. Women came with beautiful dresses, men with tie and nice clothes etc...
